
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American singer, songwriter, and TV host who became known as a pop rock star following being crowned the most popular TV talent competition American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was raised in Burleson (Texas) and is one of the suburbs of Fort Worth. Her vocal talent was recognized at seven years of age from the head of the choir department at the school she attended. Clarkson left high school to relocate in Los Angeles where she failed to succeed in the world of entertainment. When she returned to Texas and completing her high school, she was selected as participant on the initial season of the The Fox Broadcasting Corporation's American Idol, a singing contest that let viewers decide which singer they liked best. Clarkson's impressive voice, charm and humour won the hearts of viewers. Her prize was $1million and a recording deal with RCA.
