Laura San Giacomo

 Four episodes from three television shows that aired in 1987 included San Giacomo for his first television appearance. Two of the most memorable appearances were in Crime Story in 1988 for the episode "Protected Witness" (Season 2 Episode 13) as Theresa Farantino, as well as in Miami Vice in 1989 for the episode "Leap of Faith" (Season 5, Episode 21) as Tania Lewis. One year prior to the wedding, Cameron Dye, her potential husband, was a guest on the Miami Vice episode. Prior to the show, she was a guest on the soap opera daytime All My Children as Louisa Sanchez she was the Latina common-law spouse of Mitch Beck (Brian Fitzpatrick) who's presence could sabotage his romantic relationship with Hillary Martin (Carmen Thomas).However, San Giacomo first drew international interest in Steven Soderbergh's Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989) and also marked her debut in film as a credit actor (in the 1988 movie Miles from Home, her part as "Sandy" wasn't credited). In addition, she was nominated for Golden Globe Awards for her role in the film and won a Los Angeles Film Critics Association New Generation Award. The film was honored with the Cannes Film Festival's most prestigious Grand Prize, the Palme d'Or.In 1990, San Giacomo played a part in the role of Julia Roberts' character's smart-talking roommate Kit De Luca in Pretty Woman. The film made $178 million in box-office revenue. The Stephen King TV miniseries The Stand starred her as Nadine who starred alongside Rob Lowe. The cover of TV Guide, May 7-13 1994, featured them. She continued to film, until 1999 came to an end.
